Site Objectives/Intended audience

What is the website about?

The basic functions of this website will be a scrolling webpage depicting the timeline of the history of art & design using 10 images that have been created over time. The scrolling web page will cover traditional art to graphic design and architecture whilst informing the reader what that time period was all about and what some common themes within that art movement were.
I will also redesign each of the 10 pieces within a similar style but in a way to reflect a modern context as seen in advertisements, modern graphics and media etc. I will use various techniques to do this including both modern and more traditional approaches such as biro drawings, acrylic paintings, lino printing and incorporating contemporary elements by editing them on online software.

Target Audience

As a student who’s interested in the history of art and design I love being able to find new resources on how design has developed from long ago to now. It also helps cultivate my tastes and what I truly enjoy in art as I can compare various different styles and pick apart which parts I like and don’t. Because of this I want to target this webpage to like-minded students interested in this subject, that way I can include topics I find interesting and therefore appeal people in a similar age-group and demographic. I also think being able to see re-interpretations of artwork can be useful as it gives insight to how other peoples artistic brain works.
