Cover Design
Magazine Cover:
For my first cover design I decided to create a front cover for the magazine which includes two other double spreads promoting the artists that are attending inside it. This cover encompasses all the concepts I want the festival to be known for, including the #musicforeveryone slogan and the hangul translation with opposing type colours to make it easier to distinguish between them both whilst also targeting both English and Korean speaking fans who read it. For the front cover I decided to make an image of the main stage the focus with clear visibility of the artists performing on the big screen as well as the audience watching. This creates a connection between the fans and the artist as you can visibly see them enjoy the festival and wish that for yourself if you were interested in that music. The colour palate is also in harmony with the rest of the campaign with the consistent use of purple and pink shades targeting a mostly young, female demographic as they are the main consumers of K-POP. At the bottom of the cover I also included the page name of the website I designed to create a connection between the editorial designs and help the consumer be lead through numerous products.

Line-up Poster:
As this campaign is for a festival I thought it’d be appropriate to design a line up poster which includes all the artists/groups that will attend. As the festival will run for three days there will be three headliners and to signify this and the fact they’re more well known groups I’ve enlarged the point size of the text on this poster as well as making it white so it is able to stand out more compared to the lesser-known acts which are in pink. As the headliners are more able to bring fans in to the festival its important hat they’re known immediately when viewers look at the poster, therefore I’ve made the text their own logo that I designed so fans can tell who they are straight away. I’ve also included the ticket graphic next to the line-up to reinforce to the fans that is what they’ll need in order to go as well as maybe making them think about tickets more subconsciously.

Promotional Poster:
For my third cover I wanted to design a poster with a much more simple layout to oppose the other editorial pages which look much busier. As a main part of the festival includes a lot of moon/phases of the moon imagery I wanted to dedicate one poster to that concept, so I designed a moon and made that the focal part of the design. The moon is very important in Korean culture, especially in their history as it has long influenced their life-style patterns as it had provided a dependable schedule for when to start and end each year for agricultural work. Therefore in the context of the festival I wanted it to symbolise the start of a new period of time when music from other cultures would be more accessible around the world. To link to the theme of agriculture that the moon symbolises I drew a simple countryside landscape beneath the moon which I believe associated well, as well as adding more interest to the negative space on the poster. For the slogan which I positioned in between the moon I hand-wrote the lettering to give a more genuine impression on the viewer.
